ULTIMATE CARE DEVOTIONAL ⛪THURSDAY, OCTOBER 20, 2022🪐💦💦💦💦💦💦💦💦💦💦Today’s Theme:⛪️ BE THE LIGHT”And God saw the light that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness”Text: Genesis 1:4MESSAGE🍎Light in the Bible stands for spiritual illumination and truth. Light is used to symbolized the Holy God. The Bible says God is light and in Him is no darkness at all. (1 John 1: 5; refer; Micah 7:8).In John 8:12 Jesus says “I am the light of the world. Whoever that follow me will not walk in darkness but will have the light of life”.Light also signifies God’s presence and favour (Psalm 27:1; 2 Cor. 4:6). Light represents faith, holiness, righteousness, etc.The believer in Christ Jesus is the light of the world. The Bible reads,” As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world” (John 9:5).A believer has two principles at work within him which may portray light.We can live by one of the two principles; we live either by the principle of life or by the principle of right and wrong, good and evil. We can live either on the line of life depending on the Lord as life or we can just live according to the knowledge of good and evil.“And out of the ground made the Lord to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food; the tree of life also in the garden, and the tree of knowledge of good and evil” (Genesis 2:9).These two trees issue brought about the two principles of living. We in his natural estate (the nature of sin) was subjected to one principle only, which was darkness; now light has entered, and the twoprinciples (laws)disagree (2 Corinthians 6:14), “Be ye not unequally yoke together with unbelievers; for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? And what communion hath light with darkness?Mark the Apostle Paul’s words in the seventh chapter of Romans:“I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me. For I delight in the law of God after the inward man: but I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin, which is in my members.” (Romans 7: 21-23)How is this state of things occasioned?In Genesis 1: 4, “The Lord divided the light from the darkness.”Darkness, by itself, was quiet and undisturbed, but when the Lord sent in light, there was a conflict, for the one is in opposition to the other: a conflict which will never cease till the believer is altogether light in the Lord. If there be a division within the individual Christian, there is certain to be a division without. So soon as the Lord gives to any man light, he proceeds to separate himself from the darkness around; he secedes from a merely worldly religion of outward ceremonial, for nothing short of the gospel of Christ will now satisfy him, and he withdraws himself from worldly society and frivolous amusements, and seeks the company of the saints, for “We know we have passed from death unto life, because we love the brethren”(1 John 3:14). The light gathers to itself, and the darkness to itself.What God has divided, let us never try to unite, but as Christ went without the camp, bearing his reproach, so let us come out from the ungodly, and be a peculiar people. He was holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners; and, as he was, so we are to be nonconformists to the world, dissenting from all sin, and distinguished from the rest of mankind by our likeness to our Master, JESUS CHRIST.PRAYERS♨️Heavenly Father, I thank you for setting me free from the law of sin and death by the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus.
