VOLUME 2🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿SUNDAY, JANUARY 15, 2023🪐💦💦💦💦💦💦💦💦💦💦TODAY’S THEME:👉 THE WISE BUILDER”He is like a man which built an house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock”TEXT: Luke 6:48MESSAGE📕Luke 6:48, Luke describes the wise builder as a man building a house, who dug deep and laid a foundation on the rock; and when a flood occurred, the torrent burst against that house and could not shake it, because it had been well built, on the foundation of the rock. The Rock on which we build is Christ Himself. (Refer: Deuteronomy 32:1-4; Psalm 18:2, 46; I Corinthians 3:10-11):32 “Give ear, O ye heavens, and I will speak; and hear, O earth, the words of my mouth.2 My doctrine shall drop as the rain, my speech shall distil as the dew, as the small rain upon the tender herb, and as the showers upon the grass:3 Because I will publish the name of the Lord: ascribe ye greatness unto our God.4 He is the Rock, his work is perfect: for all his ways are judgment: a God of truth and without iniquity, just and right is he”. (DEUT. 32: 1-4), and(10) “According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon. (11) For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ” (1CORINTHIANS 3: 10-11) also2 “The Lord is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower.46 The Lord liveth; and blessed be my rock; and let the God of my salvation be exalted” (PSALM 18: 2, 46)In this parable according to Luke 6:48, Christ teaches us the importance of doing as well as hearing. Consider, Mathew 7:24-27;“Therefore, whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock: and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock.”“But everyone who hears these sayings of Mine, and does not do them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand: and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it fell. And great was its fall.” (Matthew 7:24-27 NKJV)Jesus Christ compared those who do what He says to a wise builder who built his house on the rock. But he who refuse to do after hearing, he calls him, a foolish man who built on the sand.In other words, the foundation of the building determines both the strength and lifespan of the building. Jesus Christ is the rock of ages on which we ought to build our lives. He said if we do His Word, we are wise builders. The wise builder is ready to face the floods and storms of life – which represent the challenges, trials, and difficulties of life – without being shaken by them. He is certain that life is not all rosy, and therefore His disciples must come to terms with this and prepare themselves to face life; He is expecting nothing but success from them.Dearly beloved, what foundation are you building your life on? Build your life on the Holy Scriptures, and you will surely succeed. Shalom.PRAYERS♨️Heavenly Father, I thank you for your love and wisdom which you have granted me. I come to terms with your word, and I pray that you give me the grace to build on the solid foundation, which is Jesus Christ.
