Hope is an optimistic state of mind that is based on an expectation of positive outcomes with respects to events and circumstances in one’s life.Our Sure Hope is that Christ is able to give us the eternal life that He has promised because He is the Living Saviour, and we that are saved shall walk in the light of it.Our hope in Christ for the future is the focus and the mainstay of our joy here. It will elevate our hearts to think often of heaven, for all that we can desire is promised there. Here we are weary and toilworn, but yonder is the land of rest where the sweat of labour shall no more bedew the worker’s brow, and fatigue shall be forever banished. To those who are weary and spent, the word “rest” is full of heaven. We are always in the field of battle; we are so tempted within, and so molested by foes without, that we have little or no peace; but in heaven we shall enjoy the victory, when the banner shall be waved aloft in triumph, and the sword shall be sheathed, and we shall hear our Captain say well done, good and faithful servant.“His Lord said unto him well done, thou good and faithful servant; thou have been faithful over a few things. I will make thee ruler over many things; enter thou into the joy of the Lord” (Matthew 25:21)We have suffered bereavement after bereavement, but we are going to the land of the immortal where graves are unknown things. Through the Spirit of God, the hope of heaven is the most potent force for the product of virtue; it is a fountain of joyous effort, it is the corner stone of cheerful holiness and it is the catalyst that empowers our services in Him.Any man who has this hope in him goes about his work with vigour, and purifies himself even as the Lord is pure (1 John 3:3), for the joy of the Lord is his strength (Nehemiah 8:10).Such man fights against sins and temptation with ardour, for the hope of the next world repels the fiery darts of the adversary. He can labour without present reward, for he looks for a reward in the world to come. May you as a true saint of God, focus on the glory that is before you, labour to enter a kingdom set before, where Christ is the light thereof, the street is of pure gold, the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it.For certainly, if you are saved, the joy is that you shall walk in the light of it. It means to share in the sorrows of others. Mercy in the scriptures relates to forgiveness or withholding punishment from the offenders. God the Father showed mercy on us when he sacrificed his Son, Jesus Christ, on the Cross to pay the price for our sins(1 Cor.5:7).What then is Bowels of Mercy? Bowels of Mercy means sharing the pains of others in love. Bowels of Mercy means being merciful and kind hearted to all men. We are commanded to; “Put on as the elect of God, holy and beloved, the Bowels of Mercy, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering, forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any, even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye. And above all put on Charity, which is the bond of perfectness” (Colossians 3: 12-14).From the text, we have a clear picture of our beloved Christ. Knocking was not enough, so he put his hand by the hole of the door, for our hearts were too full of sleep, too cold and ungrateful to arise and open the door, but the touch of his effectual grace has made our soul rise up for Him. Oh, the longsuffering of my Beloved, to tarry when he found himself shut out, and we being asleep upon the bed of sloth! Oh, the greatness of his patience, to knock and knock again (Revelation 3:20), and to add his voice to his knockings, beseeching us to open to him! How could I have refused him! Base heart, blush and be confounded! But what greatest kindness of all is this, that he becomes his own porter, even our potter and unbars the door himself (Isaiah 64:8). I rose up to open for my beloved (Song of Solomon 5: 5), but blessed is the hand which condescends to lift the latch and turn the key. Now I see that nothing but my Lord’s own power can save such a naughty mass of wickedness as I am; ordinances fail, even the gospel has no effect upon me, till his hand is stretched out. Now, also, I perceive that his hand is good where all else is unsuccessful, he can open when nothing else will. Blessed be his name; I feel his gracious presence even now. Wolves in the Bible is an emblem of treachery and cruelty (Gen. 49: 27). Someone who is ravenous is ferociously hungry, like the wild animal. Ravening Wolves can be equated to human behaviour ready to prey on others by seeking opportunities to devour. Ravening Wolves are those false prophets who claim to be God’s representatives but they are enemies in sheep’s clothing. Ravening Wolf is fierce and brutal in its hunger for anything so desire by it. So, anybody that acts WILE AND BRUTISH IS THE AVENING WOLF. This is a clear picture of the devil and its cohorts. The false prophets fall inline in this. Let us listen to our beloved Apostle Paul in Acts 20:29, “For I know this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock”HOW CAN WE IDENTIFY THEM?THEY CARRY FALSE IDENTIFY TO DECEIVE.There was a man like this and many more exist today carrying false identity. He was noted in his time as a political leader who frequently used the Christian vocabulary. He spoke about the blessing of the Almighty God and the Christian beliefs which would become the pillars of his new government. He declared his spirituality to the press, displaying his tattered Bible, and that he drew strength for this great work from it. He was welcomed by many Christians as a man sent from God. Who was this leader? It was Adolf Hitler.DISHONEST GAINThe scripture reveals: her princes in the midst thereof are like wolves ravening the prey (ravening wolves), to shed blood, and to destroy souls (lives) to get dishonest gain (Ezekiel 22: 27).It is noted that those who should have protected the people and properties; are like wolves, subtle, and cruel, preying upon the weak.BY THEIR FRUITS, YOU SHALL KNOW THEMIn the description of the false prophets, who came in sheep’s clothing but inwardly are ravening wolves, Jesus revealed how they should be identified: you shall know them by their fruits. God tells us to endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace (Ephesians 4:3). Why unity in the Spirit? There is one body, one Spirit, one hope, one love, one Lord, one faith, one baptism, One God, and the Father of all, who is above all, and through all and in all the saints, even as you were called.You were called into unity with Christ and the Father.3 “Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.4 There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling;5 One Lord, one faith, one baptism,6 One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all” (EPHESIANS 4:3-6).Christian Unity is God bringing together believers of different ethnicity, background, social and religious differences into one family under Christ. Christian Unity is the state of being one with God. It is a state of oneness and harmony with Christ.From the text, these representatives of the saints in heaven are said to be around the throne. “There is an equality among the saints since all the elders were clothe with white raiment and crowns of gold on their heads.” The condition of glorified spirits in heaven is that of nearness to Christ, clear vision of his glory, constant access to his court, and familiar fellowship with his person. There is no difference in this respect between one saint and another, but all the people of God, apostles, martyrs, ministers, or matured Christians, shall all be seated near the throne, where they shall forever gaze upon their exalted Lord and King, and be satisfied with his love. They shall all be near to Christ, all ravished with his love, all eating and drinking at the same table with him, all equally beloved as His favourites.Let believers on earth imitate the saints in heaven in their nearness to Christ. Let us on earth be as the elders are in heaven, sitting around the throne. May Christ be the object of our thoughts, the centre of our love, the glory of our hope, and the peace of our lives. How can we endure to live at such a distance from our Beloved?How can you hesitate not to be among His lieutenants? How can you escape from the ambient of His love? But you can meditate and sing, even as the song writer says, Lord Jesus, draw me nearer to thyself. Hear him out;“Draw me nearer, nearer to thee Lord.Draw me nearer, nearer to thee (2X)My song every day,Father draws me nearer.Draw me nearer, nearer to thee (2X)This should be our song to get us closer to our Saviour. But the greater aspect of it is to abide in him. Listen to the Saviour himself;“Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me” (John 15: 4).And in verse 5, He declares;“I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing”.The Saints in glory experienced the comfort of their everlasting king and Lord. Father, may I from now experience your warmth comfort, your abiding presence, your peaceful life, your everlasting arms and your glorious hope.LORD JESUS, I know that when you appear to take me home, I will be like you even as I will see you then. Psalm 133:1, Acts 4:32.Unity provides a constant source of positive development and great accomplishment. 1 Peter 3:8-9, Ephesians 4:13.Unity supports God’s mission and encourages peace. 2 Corinthians 13:11.Unity influences the community of believers for greater exploits.Dan.11:32Unity is strength. It strengthens the body of believers, and helps them to fight for their greater destiny fulfilment. Matthew 18:19, Deut. 32:30.May we all live in unity, grow in unity and multiply in unity. It is in unity alone that the body of believers can fight, rule and reign in this life. Christian brethren in Nigeria in particular need to come together, agree with a common front to stem the tide ofthe evil menace of Boko Haram and insurgency. This is the beauty of unity. God blesses you as you unite with other believers in love, in Jesus Name.PRAYERS♨️Heavenly Father, I thank you for the wonderful love you showed towards me and humanity. I thank you for the ultimate grace that you have given to me to be your child. Lord, I pray for the Christian believers in Nigeria, to unite for the purpose of the kingdom advancement, identity and victory. I pray that you frustrate all satanic tokens hindering the manifestation of your will in world, in the mighty name of Jesus, Amen. Biblically, Forgiveness is correctly understood as God’s promise not to count our sins against us. Forgiveness does not mean forgetting or excusing the harm done to you or making up with the person who caused the harm. Forgiveness brings a kind of peace that helps you go on with life.Many of us are filled with pride and can’t say sorry to people we hurt with our words or actions, especially when we are older than them or well to do than them. It looks impossible for some parents to say sorry to their children when they wrong them. It’s hard for some spouses to say sorry to their partners. Some employers can’t apologize to their employee.These hurts are not physical, so many don’t know the damage it is causing relationships. It’s easy for someone to walk over you, step on you and apologize because they can feel it; but they can’t do the same when they walk over someone’s heart. They don’t even realize it just because they don’t taste their own words before they spit them on others.There are things that damage a person emotionally, more than the physical could do. Things like harsh words, it hurts. Things like silence or being cold towards someone, it breaks the heart. Many people have lost great relationships as a result of this. We need to value relationships for out of that, God brings to our paths divine hook ups. A relationship can link you to your destination, lead you to your helper; a relationship can bring you your breakthrough.The truth is, God sends people into our lives each time He wants to bless us but because of our ego and pride, we end up losing these blessings we prayed for. Others have become lonely because no one wants to be their friend due to this attitude, while some are sad and know no happiness.Nobody is an island, we are all part of the body of Christ, we need each other to accomplish His task for us, this is why “You must be kind to each other. Think of the other person. Forgive other people just as God forgave you because of Christ’s death on the cross” – Ephesians 4:32 (NIV).Only the wise will understand this. So, beloved wise up and learn to ‘I am sorry’ when you offend, learn to forgive, when you wrong someone. By doing so, the very God of peace, will establish your heart with peace. And with the peace of God, you will make progress in your relationship with your partner, in your work place and in your church. Never work away, once you are guilty, use all available means to say ‘I am sorry’, and learn to always, as much as it is possible,forgive for the sake of your forgiveness and the kingdom (Matthew 6:14; mark 11:25). Forgiveness is gold in the eyes of the Lord. The Lord says, as much as it is possible, live in peace with all men (Romans 12:18). Remember the Lord is at hand.PRAYERS♨️Heavenly Father, I thank you for the grace of life. I pray for the grace to always forgive our enemies and those who wrongly accuse us.Father, empower me with thy kind and tender-loving heart and strengthen me to live unto your glory.Let thy gentle Spirit guides me always to do the right at all times. It means discerning the time. Jesus rebuked His generation for not discerning the times, “O ye hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the sky; but cannot discern the signs of the times” (Matthew 16: 3b). Paul admonishes us to know the time in Romans 13: 11-14. Believers must know the times we are inn. Times in which spiritual revolution has taken place. Times in which moral revolution has taken place. Times in which economic revolution has taken place and times in which political revolution has taken place. We must know that this time, the Father is preparing His Son, Jesus Christ to come for the rapture of the saints, and you should be ready. In JOSHUA 19:17-23, this scripture has to do with allocation of land to the tribe of Issachar in Canaan. The question may come;Do you have understanding of life and the time you find yourself as it was to the children of Issachar?If your answer is in the affirmative, then you must know and note the following:*Know your tribal rights and talents, transgressions and territorial spirits and demons. The sons of Issachar knew all these.Each tribe had her own peculiarities, background, blessings, perhaps curses, talents, endowments and gifts from God.These peculiarities, both divinely gifted or traditionally acquired, affected individuals from that tribe, consciously or unconsciously.A case study is the tribe of Issachar.This is what God gave that tribe among the 12 tribes in particular as recorded in Joshua19:17-23. And the Bible records;”Of the sons of Issachar who had understanding of the times, to know what Israel ought to do”, I Chronicles 12:32.Anybody born into that tribe had the innate or inborn unusual gift of discernment of times and seasons.Furthermore, they had the wisdom to know the right thing Israel and the people should do at the right time.Recall that Jesus accused the religious Pharisees of lacking this spiritual gift from God.“Whenever you see a cloud rising out of the west, immediately you say, ‘A shower is coming’; and so, it is. And when you see the south wind blow, you say, ‘There will be hot weather’; and there is. Hypocrites! You can discern the face of the sky and of the earth, but how is it you do not discern this time? Luke 12:54-56.*Tribes are also controlled by territorial evil powers which affect the mindset and lifestyle of members. For example, the Bible speaks of the Prince of Persia controlling that area (Daniel 10:13). A serious-minded Christian should reflect on his/her divinely given tribal gifts and build on it for their good and that of their neighbours, just as Daniel, based on the timing they find themselves.Similarly, a Christian should reflect on satanically induced culture and worldly traditions of their tribes that are contrary to God and His word, and seek deliverance from them because the time of rapture draws near.”Come out from among them and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you”, (2 Corinthians 6:17) to myselffor “The customs (culture) of the people are vain” (Jeremiah 10: 3).So don’t just submit to your tribal cultures and traditions, separate from them once they are worldly and not according to the principle of righteousness. Submitting to them will automatically put you under the dominion and reign of such evil territorial spirits with attendant consequences, knowing the time you are inn.The image of Christ and heaven should, above all else, be reflecting in the lives of all Christians so that we don’t see their tribes on them but Christ.Dearly beloved, you cannot serve God and tradition of your fathers at the same time. You must come out from the traditions of your fathers to serve the Living and True God.Understand the time that we are inn, just as the children of Issachar. This is injury time. God has instructed us to cleanse ourselves from vain custom and culture which leads to the filthiness of the flesh and spirit. If you fail to come out, you cannot perfect holiness in yourself (2 Corinthians 7:1).If you come out from the ancestral customs and traditions, and let go of combining worshipping of idols in the body of Christ, God has promised that, He will be a Father onto you and you will be His son/daughter (2 Corinthians 6:18) What a great promise? (2 Corinthians 7: 1a)If you are willing and obedient to come out, you will eat the good of land (Isaiah 1:18-19). Are you a Pastor or an Evangelist or a Prophet, and you are still combining idol worship in the name of custom or culture in the church? The Lord has asked you to come out, to let go of marine witchcraft manipulations on the altar of righteousness. Are you a church worker or member but you are still involving in idol worship in the church or at home once you return from church, the Almighty God has asked me to tell you to come out right now. He has promised to take you back and empower you for a greater exploit in His kingdom, the Kingdom of light and righteousness. For they that know the true and the living God that they serve, not a dead god, must be strong and do exploits (Daniel 11: 32).IMPORTANT TO KNOW THE TIMES AND SEASONS.You will know what to do at certain points of life.You will know how to do it.You will know when to do it.You will know the place to do it.Simply put, doing the right thing at the right time, in the right way and at the right place. Lord, today, I come to you and I ask for your mercy. In the name of Jesus Christ, I come out from any vain tradition and custom/culture that I was engaged inn. Light is used to symbolized the Holy God. The Bible says God is light and in Him is no darkness at all. (1 John 1: 5; refer; Micah 7:8).In John 8:12 Jesus says “I am the light of the world. Whoever that follow me will not walk in darkness but will have the light of life”.Light also signifies God’s presence and favour (Psalm 27:1; 2 Cor. 4:6). Light represents faith, holiness, righteousness, etc.The believer in Christ Jesus is the light of the world. The Bible reads,” As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world” (John 9:5).A believer has two principles at work within him which may portray light.We can live by one of the two principles; we live either by the principle of life or by the principle of right and wrong, good and evil. We can live either on the line of life depending on the Lord as life or we can just live according to the knowledge of good and evil.“And out of the ground made the Lord to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food; the tree of life also in the garden, and the tree of knowledge of good and evil” (Genesis 2:9).These two trees issue brought about the two principles of living. We in his natural estate (the nature of sin) was subjected to one principle only, which was darkness; now light has entered, and the twoprinciples (laws)disagree (2 Corinthians 6:14), “Be ye not unequally yoke together with unbelievers; for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? And what communion hath light with darkness?Mark the Apostle Paul’s words in the seventh chapter of Romans:“I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me. For I delight in the law of God after the inward man: but I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin, which is in my members.” (Romans 7: 21-23)How is this state of things occasioned?In Genesis 1: 4, “The Lord divided the light from the darkness.”Darkness, by itself, was quiet and undisturbed, but when the Lord sent in light, there was a conflict, for the one is in opposition to the other: a conflict which will never cease till the believer is altogether light in the Lord. If there be a division within the individual Christian, there is certain to be a division without. So soon as the Lord gives to any man light, he proceeds to separate himself from the darkness around; he secedes from a merely worldly religion of outward ceremonial, for nothing short of the gospel of Christ will now satisfy him, and he withdraws himself from worldly society and frivolous amusements, and seeks the company of the saints, for “We know we have passed from death unto life, because we love the brethren”(1 John 3:14). The light gathers to itself, and the darkness to itself.What God has divided, let us never try to unite, but as Christ went without the camp, bearing his reproach, so let us come out from the ungodly, and be a peculiar people. And I will not give my glory unto another”Text: ISAIAH 48:11MESSAGE:🍎By considering ISAIAH 42:8 and Isaiah 48:11. Isaiah 42:8 states “I am the Lord; that is my name; and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images”. We acknowledge thus; We are not from this world. Through the new birth, we come from God and should constantly remind ourselves of this.It is not good to be too ‘at home’ in the world. We are in the world but are not of the world. Great men and women of God have always had this attitude.The primary reason that God chooses to use those who are nothing by the world’s standards, is so no one else can take credit for the great things that are accomplished.If the Lord used those, who had it ‘all together’ in the natural, then they would share the glory that rightfully belongs to God alone. But when the Lord works miraculously through someone who obviously has no talent or ability, then everyone says, ‘This must be God.’Not only does this keep others from misdirecting the glory that belongs to God, but it keeps the person who God uses from swelling up with pride. One of Satan’s greatest weapons against someone who is being used by God is to tempt them to think that the Lord is using them because they possess some superior virtue.God uses ‘nobodies.’ If we think we’ve become ‘somebody’ (in our flesh), then we will cease being used. He will not share His glory with anyone else (Isa. 42:8).He created you for his glory and you must give him the glory. Isaiah 43:7 declares, “Even every one that is called by my name: for I have created him for my glory. I have formed him yea I have made him”The Bible expressly declares that the believer was created in Christ Jesus, to give God the glory. So, the believer is the glory of God and for the sake of this glory, the believer was formed (created) in the image of God.Beloved, all that God created must declare the glory of God.Psalm 19:1-2, declares “The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament showeth his handiwork. Day unto day uttereth speech, and night unto night showeth knowledge”.This is the standpoint of God, all to his praise and glory. Isaiah 44: 23c says,“For the Lord hath redeemed Jacob, and glorified himself in Israel”.In all matters of life, we must give Him the glory. The heavens, the earth, man whom He created, all for His glory. Remember, He will not give nor share His glory with any man (Isaiah 42:8). Zeal means persistent, fervent, devotion to a cause. In this case, it means devotion to a good cause. There are good causes and there are bad causes of actions. Our concern here is devotion to good works. The Lord says be zealous therefore and repent. To be zealous hereby means, be sincere, be devoted, be persistent in your love for God and things of the kingdom.If you would see souls converted, if you would hear the cry that “the kingdoms of this world have become the kingdoms of our Lord” (Daniel 7: 18,27; Rev. 11:15); if you would place crowns upon the head of the Saviour, and his throne lifted high, then be filled with zeal.Be fervent in your spirit while serving the Lord (Rom 12:11). For under God, the way of the world’s conversion must be by the zeal of the church. Every grace shall do exploits, but this shall be first; prudence, knowledge, patience, and courage will follow in their places, but zeal must lead the van. It is not the extent of your knowledge, though that is useful; it is not the extent of your talent, though that is not to be despised; it is your zeal that shall do great exploits. Prophet Isaiah declared that the zeal of the Lord of host shall perform the counsel of the Lord (Isaiah 37:32).This zeal is the fruit of the Holy Spirit: it draws its vital force from the continued operations of the Holy Ghost in the soul. If our inner life dwindles, if our heart beats slowly before God, we shall not know zeal; but if all be strong and vigorous within, then we cannot but feel a loving anxiety to see the kingdom of Christ come, and his will done on earth, even as it is in heaven.A deep sense of gratitude will nourish Christian zeal. Looking to the hole of the pit whence we were dig, we find abundant reason why we should spend and be spent for God. And zeal is also stimulated by the thought of the eternal future.It looks with tearful eyes down to the flames of hell, and it cannot slumber: it looks up with anxious gaze to the glories of heaven, and it cannot but bestir itself. It feels that time is short compared with the work to be done, and therefore it devotes all that it has to the cause of its Lord. And it is ever strengthened by the remembrance of Christ’s example. He was clothed with zeal as with a cloak (Isaiah 59:17). How swift the chariot-wheels of duty went with him! He knew no loitering by the way. Let us prove that we are his disciples by manifesting the same spirit of zeal.
