The 24 elders prostrate themselves and worship God, declaring His glory, honor, and power. All creatures in heaven praise God. It is therefore good that the children of God on Earth should also praise and worship God. The only creatures whose praise to God abhors are the devil and his cohorts of darkness, the wicked, and hypocrites. As children of God, let us make praise and worship our lifestyle; let us learn new songs to worship our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. It is a period between God’s promises and his fulfillment. Prayers, Fasting and Patience are the three principles of the waiting room. What this means is that, at the waiting room, you must pray, fast and wait patiently for God’s manifestation.Prayer sometimes tarrieth, like a petitioner at the gate, until the King cometh forth to fill her bosom with the blessings which she seeketh. The Lord, when he hath given great faith, has been known to try it by long delaying. He has suffered his servants’ voices to echo in their ears as from a brazen sky. They have knocked at the golden gate, but it has remained immovable, as though it were rusted upon its hinges. Like Jeremiah, they have cried,“Thou hast covered thyself with a cloud, that our prayer should not pass through.” (Lamentations 3:44).Thus have true saints continued long in patient waiting without reply, not because their prayers were not vehement, nor because they were unaccepted, but because it so pleased him who is a Sovereign, and who gives according to his own pleasure. If it pleases him to bid our patience exercise itself, shall he not do as he wills with his own! Beggars must not be choosers either as to time, place, or form. But we must be careful not to take delays in prayer for denials: God’s long-dated bills will be punctually honoured; we must not suffer Satan to shake our confidence in the God of truth by pointing to our unanswered prayers. Unanswered petitions are not unheard. God keeps a file for our prayers—they are not blown away by the wind, they are treasured in the King’s archives. This is a registry in the court of heaven wherein every prayer is recorded. Tried believer, thy Lord hath a tear-bottle in which the costly drops of sacred grief are put away, and a book in which thy holy groanings are numbered. By and by, thy suit shall prevail. Canst thou not be content to wait a little? Will not thy Lord’s time be better than thy time? Shall the head be crowned with thorns (Mathew 27:29), and shall the other members of the body be rocked upon the dainty lap of ease?Must Christ pass through seas of his own blood to win the crown, and are we to walk to heaven dryshod in silver slippers?No, our Master’s experience teaches us that suffering is necessary, and the true-born child of God must not, would not, escape it if he might. But there is one very comforting thought in the fact of Christ’s “being made perfect through suffering” (Hebrews 2:10) —it is, that he can have complete sympathy with us.“He is not an high priest that cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities.”(Hebrews 4:15)In this sympathy of Christ we find a sustaining power. One of the early martyrs said,“I can bear it all, for Jesus suffered, and he suffers in me now; he sympathizes with me, and this makes me strong.”(1 Peter 2:21)Believer, lay hold of this thought in all times of agony. Let the thought of Jesus strengthen you as you follow in his steps. Find a sweet support in his sympathy; and remember that, to suffer is an honourable thing—to suffer for Christ is glory.The apostles rejoiced that they were counted worthy to do this. Just so far as the Lord shall give us grace to suffer for Christ, to suffer with Christ, just so far does he honour us. The jewels of a Christian are his afflictions. The regalia of the kings whom God hath anointed are their troubles, their sorrows, and their griefs. Let us not, therefore, shun being honoured. Let us not turn aside from being exalted. When we receive Jesus as our Lord and Saviour, we are called the children of God. Healing is for us. We are not supposed to be coming to God begging for a crumb of bread (just a crumb of healing). We are to sit at the Father’s table as His children and eat of the bread of healing.This woman gained comfort in her misery by thinking great thoughts of Christ. The Master had talked about the children’s bread: “Now,” argued she, “since thou art the Master of the table of grace, I know that thou art a generous housekeeper, and there is sure to be abundance of bread on thy table; there will be such an abundance for the children that there will be crumbs to throw on the floor for the dogs, and the children will fare none the worse because the dogs are fed.” She thought him one who kept so good a table that all that she needed would only be a crumb in comparison; yet remember, what she wanted was to have the devil cast out of her daughter.It was a very great thing to her, but she had such a high esteem of Christ, that she said, “It is nothing to him, it is but a crumb for Christ to give.”This is the royal road to comfort. Great thoughts of your sin alone will drive you to despair; but great thoughts of Christ will pilot you into the haven of peace. “My sins are many, but oh! it is nothing to Jesus to take them all away. She confessed what Christ laid at her door, but she laid fast hold upon him, and drew arguments even out of his hard words; she believed great things of him, and she thus overcame him. Then all the disciples forsook him and fled”Text: Matthew 26:56MESSAGE🍎“The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases, his mercies never come to an end” (Lamentations 3:22). Steadfast love is a unique covenant love that only God can give. The Hebrew word translated steadfast love to mean, faithful love, lovingkindness, gracious love, or even mercy. Such is the case of Jesus, to his disciples. He never deserted them, but they in cowardly fear of their lives, fled from him in the very beginning of his sufferings. This is but one instructive instance of the frailty of all believers if left to themselves; they are but sheep at the best, and they flee when the wolf cometh. They had all been warned of the danger, and had promised to die rather than leave their Master; and yet they were seized with sudden panic, and took to their heels. It may be, that I, at the opening of this day, have braced up my mind to bear a trial for the Lord’s sake, and I imagine myself to be certain to exhibit perfect fidelity; but let me be very jealous of myself, lest having the same evil heart of unbelief, I should depart from my Lord (Hebrews 3:12) as the apostles did.It is one thing to promise, and quite another to perform. It would have been to their eternal honour to have stood at Jesus’ side right manfully; they fled from honour; may I be kept away from imitating them! Where else could they have been so safe as near their Master, who could presently call for twelve legions of angels?They fled from their true safety. O God, let me not play the fool also. Divine grace can make the coward brave. The smoking flax (Isaiah 42:3) can flame forth like fire on the altar when the Lord wills it. These very apostles who were timid as hares, grew to be bold as lions after the Spirit had descended upon them, and even so the Holy Spirit can make my recreant spirit brave to confess my Lord and witness for his truth.What anguish must have filled the Saviour as he saw his friends so faithless! This was one bitter ingredient in his cup; but that cup is drained dry; let me not put another drop in it. If I forsake my Lord, I shall crucify him afresh, and put him to an open shame. Birch Freeman came to Badagry in 1842.■The seven churches Jesus spoke to in Revelations 2 & 3(Ephesus, Smyrna, Pergamum, Thyatira, Sardis, Philadelphia and Laodicea) existed in the old Turkey.■Turkey once had the largest Christian auditorium in Europe called Hagia Sophia in Constantinople.■Mary the mother of Jesus was taken to Turkey by Apostle John and till date, her room has become a tourist centre.TURKEY TODAY■Present day Turkey now has 96% muslims & 0.02% Christians(less than 130,000).■The Hagia Sophia(once largest church in Europe) was taken over by muslims and converted to a mosque for over 400yrs and later used as an Islamic Museum.WHY CHRISTIANITY COLLAPSED IN TURKEY■Emphasis on doctrinal differences weakened the Turkish church.■Rivalries amongst denominations.■Petty politics in church coupled with ethnic biases.■The Turks were building big cathedrals instead of building men.HOW IT HAPPENED■Osman Ghazi discovered the disunity amongst Christians and used it to fight a Jihad that led to a mass genocide of the Armenians, the Hellen and Turks of that day. In fact, the weapon of war used was designed by a Turkish Christian.■Many Christian women converted to Islam to save their lives and some were raped and killed.■Osman Ghazi started the Ottoman empire which gave muslims political post and made it a religion of the state.IS NIGERIA/GHANA HEADING THE WAY OF TURKEY■Virtually all the mistakes the church in Turkey made, the Nigerian/Ghanaian church have made it.■We are building Cathedrals at the expense of discipling men.■Disunity amongst churches.■Ethnicity in the church.■Denominational rivalry, etc.■Sharp division along doctrinal lines.MORE FACTS■The spiritual foundation of Turkey is stronger than that of Nigeria/ Ghana and Christianity existed for over 1000yrs in Turkey unlike ours which is just 172yrs but Islam Radicalism uprooted it. If it happened in Turkey, it can also happen in Nigeria/Ghana if we are not careful.■The menace of Boko Haram has destroyed a lot of churches in the Northern Nigeria, and it may take another 200yrs to evangelize Borno State alone.■There is a secret agenda to Islamize Nigeria and other African nations as contained in Abuja declaration of 1989.DON’T SAY IT CAN’T HAPPEN HERE, IF WE DON’T RIGHT OUR WRONGS AS A CHURCHSOLUTION■HEART-FELT Intercession.■Aggressive evangelism – the terrorist reached out to the youths in the Norths first and gave them AK-47 and bombs. lf we had reached out to them on time, they’ll be carrying BIBLES today.■Mission support – God is holding the church responsible for Boko Haram, yet we are blaming the government. If we had supported missions andmissionaries, we would have had those insurgents to Christ long ago.■Unity of the church is key in winning this battle. In the old Testament, David was the Beloved of God. He was the beloved because he was the man after God’s heart, he was the anointed of God.Today this word is used generally to refer to God’s people as a whole in the Book of Isaiah and Jeremiah.This was a golden name which the ancient Church in her most joyous moments was wont to give to the Anointed of the Lord.When the time of the singing of birds was come, and the voice of the turtle was heard in her land, her love-note was sweeter than either, as she sang, “My beloved is mine and I am his: he feedeth among the lilies.” (Song of Solomon 2:16)Ever in her song of songs doth she call him by that delightful name, “My beloved!” Even in the long winter, when idolatry had withered the garden of the Lord, her prophets found space to lay aside the burden of the Lord for a little season, and to say, as Isaiah did,“Now will I sing to my well-beloved a song of my beloved touching his vineyard.” (Isaiah 5:1)Though the saints had never seen his face, though as yet he was not made flesh, nor had dwelt among us, nor had man beheld his glory, yet he was the consolation of Israel, the hope and joy of all the chosen, the “beloved” of all those who were upright before the Most High.We, in Hammer Word Bible Church, want to speak of Christ as the best beloved of our soul, and to feel that he is very precious, the “chiefest among ten thousand, and the altogether lovely.” So true is it that the Church loves Jesus, and claims him as her beloved, that the apostle dares to defy the whole universe to separate her from the love of Christ, and declares that neither persecutions, distress, affliction, peril, or the sword have been able to do it; nay, he joyously boasts, “In all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.” (Romans 8:37)O that we knew more of thee, thou ever precious one!“My sole possession is thy love;In earth beneath, or heaven above,I have no other store;And though with fervent suit I pray,And importune thee day by day,I ask thee nothing more.”We do not know more words to use to illustrate the love of God that made us His beloved. (1 John 3:1).“Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not”HOW DO I BECOME GOD’S BELOVED?Being God’s beloved is our right as a child of God. So to become God’s beloved, you must be a child of God, that is you must be born again (John 3:7). Then when you are born again, you must;Be self-aware that you are the beloved.Become a student of Jesus. What is that divine method? He loved him from the foundation of the world. From the very beginning, thus Jesus loves his family members also.The members of His body,“I have loved thee with an everlasting love.” (Jer.31:3)You can trace the beginning of human affection; you can easily find the beginning of your love to Christ, but his love to us is a stream whose source is hidden in eternity.“The Lord hath appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee” (Jer.31:3).God the Father loves Jesus without any change. Christian, take this for your comfort, that there is no change in Jesus Christ’s love to those who rest in him. Yesterday, you were on Hill Top Mansion, and you said, “He loves me:” today you are in the valley of humiliation, but he loves you still the same. For the God of the mountain is still God in the valley.“On the hill Mizar, and among the Hermons, you heard his voice, which spake so sweetly with the turtle-notes of love” (Psalm 42:6); and now on the sea, or even in the sea, when all his waves and billows go over you, his heart is faithful to his ancient choice. The Father loves the Son without any end, and thus does the Son love his people.Saint, thou needs not fear the loosing of the silver cord, for his love for thee will never cease. Rest confident that even down to the grave Christ will go with you, and that up again from it he will be your guide to the celestial hills.Moreover, the Father loves the Son without any measure, and the same immeasurable love the Son bestows upon his chosen ones. A person enters fatherhood when he becomes a father. Fatherhood is a responsibility. This is why the Bible says “train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old, he will not depart from it” (Proverbs 22:6). Fatherhood comes with discipline. You cannot be a good father without discipline. This is the almighty God said of Abraham, “I know him that he (Abraham) will command his children and his household after him” (Genesis 18:19).There is a link between a father and the child. The link is what I call, connectivity. Fatherhood comes with connectivity.Fatherhood is connectivity, not nearness. There must be something that connects you with your father.For a biological father, you are connected by blood or genes.Spiritual Fathers are connected by covenant, which may be giving, tutorship, service or submission.As a spiritual child, you must be able to sow into the life of your spiritual father, to obtain his blessings, which may come in the form of anointing, grace, impartation, coverage, etc.Foster Fathers are connected by adoption and submission. Your ability to submit to your father is what proves that you are a son or daughter.All ministers of the gospel must have someone to submit for the sake of discipline especially. You must not be a spiritual orphan. A spiritual orphan is anyone that has not spiritual coverage, guide or mentor. We all have God as our refuge (Psalm46:1), that we know, but our earthly submission is paramount. .“God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble”.But physically, we must submit to someone of higher spiritual authority in your area of calling as a spiritual mentor for guide and discipline.13 “Submit yourselves to every ordinance of man for the Lord’s sake: whether it be to the king, as supreme;14 Or unto governors, as unto them that are sent by him for the punishment of evildoers, and for the praise of them that do well.15 For so is the will of God, that with well doing ye may put to silence the ignorance of foolish men” (1 Peter 2:13-15).Elisha submitted to Elijah as his spiritual father.12 “And Elisha saw it, and he cried, My father, my father, the chariot of Israel, and the horsemen thereof. And the word of the Lord was precious in those days; there was no open vision”.Gehazi served Elisha as his master.as recorded in 2 kings 5:20.“But Gehazi, the servant of Elisha the man of God, said, Behold, my master hath spared Naaman this Syrian, in not receiving at his hands that which he brought: but, as the Lord liveth, me will run after him, and take somewhat of him”.Fatherhood is a gender-specified version of the term parenthood. The fatherhood of God is common to all his children. God is a father to us in both the natural and spiritual sense.The role of father originated with God himself, our Heavenly Father, and is a divine role and calling. Father is an opportunity to become like God, to love and care for children as God loves and cares for us. There is a link between a Father and the child. Finally we have our Heavenly Father.A Spiritual Father has the heart of the Heavenly Father within him, so don’t joke with him.He loves and cares for his spiritual children, through the heavenly expressions of God’s love and care.He begets them spiritually, provides mentorship, spiritual coverage, guidance, spiritual parenting and oversight.Spiritual Fathers link with their children through covenant. Our Heavenly Father link with us through His Holy Spirt.He disciplines the children where necessary (Proverbs 22:6).“Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.” (Proverbs 22:6)And we become the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus (John 1:12). And as we are led by the Spirit of God, we are the sons of God (Romans 8:14).We belong to His family, God’s Family.Peter and Paul, the highly-favoured apostles, were of the family of the Most High; and so are you also; the weak Christian is as much a child of God as the strong one.“This covenant stands secure,Though earth’s old pillars bow;The strong, the feeble, and the weak,Are one in Jesus now.”All our names as we believed in Christ Jesus are in the same family register. One may have more grace than another, but God our heavenly Father has the same tender heart towards all. One may do more mighty works, and may bring more glory to his Father, but he whose name is the least in the kingdom of heaven is as much the child of God as he who stands among the King’s mighty men. Let this cheer and comfort us, when we draw near to God and say, “Our Father.” Mathew 6:9)Yet, while we are comforted by knowing this, let us not rest contented with weak faith, but ask, like the Apostles, to have it increased.However feeble our faith may be, if it be real faith in Christ, we shall reach heaven, and we shall honour our Master on our pilgrimage, we should abound in joy and peace. If then you would live to Christ’s glory, and be happy in his service, seek to be filled with the Spirit of adoption more and more completely, as the Bible has said;“And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father” (Galatians 4:6)Once you are united or adopted into the family of God, you are secured, protected in his arms, fear is cast away because of His perfect love.“There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love” (1 John 4:18).HOW DO I ATTRACT MY FATHER’S BLESSINGSHonour your father alwaysGive him his favourite in righteousness (As in the case of Isaac)Do not dishonor your father as Reuben did by sleeping with his father’s wifeDefend him in open and secret.Sow into his life when occasion demands. Remember, Fatherhood is connectivity, not nearness, so connect to him through your precious gifts/offerings.May you enjoy the blessings of fatherhood from today in Jesus mighty name, Amen.PRAYERS♨️Heavenly Father, I thank you for the blessings of fatherhood.
